Vaulti is designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. Everything stays on your device.
Vaulti does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All journal entries, attachments, AI-generated content, and app settings remain entirely on your device.
We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or crash-reporting tools that transmit data off-device. There is no account creation, no sign-in, and no user profile.
All artificial intelligence features in Vaulti — including title generation, tag extraction, summarization, entity recognition, speech transcription, and natural-language question answering (Ask My Journal) — are processed entirely on your iPhone or Mac using Apple's on-device models (Foundation Models and NaturalLanguage framework).
No data is sent to third-party AI services. AI processing never leaves your device.
On devices that do not support Apple Intelligence (iOS 17 and below, or unsupported hardware), Vaulti uses Apple's on-device NaturalLanguage heuristics as a fallback. This also involves no external data transmission.
Your entries are stored locally in a sandboxed database on your device. Attachments — photos, videos, audio files, PDFs, and other documents — are stored in the app's sandboxed file system. Other apps cannot access Vaulti's data.
You can export your data as a ZIP archive at any time from within the app, and restore it when needed. You remain in full control of your information.
Vaulti offers optional iCloud Sync using Apple CloudKit. If you enable this feature, your data is stored in your own private iCloud account — not on Vaulti's servers. Vaulti has no access to your iCloud data.
iCloud Sync is disabled by default. You can enable, pause, or disable it at any time in Sync Center within the app.
Apple's iCloud and CloudKit are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
When you share content to Vaulti from another app, the shared data (text, links, images, files) is written to a local shared container on your device. It is never transmitted over the network by Vaulti.
If you enable reminders, Vaulti uses iOS local notifications. These are scheduled entirely on-device and do not involve any network communication or server interaction.
Voice recordings and audio/video attachments may be transcribed using Apple's on-device Speech framework. Transcription is performed locally on your device. No audio data is sent to external servers.
Apple may collect aggregate, anonymized usage data as part of the App Store experience (for example, crash logs if you have opted into sharing diagnostics with developers in iOS Settings). This is governed by Apple's own privacy policy and is entirely separate from Vaulti's data practices. Vaulti itself collects no such data.
Vaulti is rated 4+ on the App Store and does not knowingly collect any information from children or anyone else. Since no personal information is collected from any user, no special provisions beyond this commitment are required.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
